London OpenSolaris Hackathon!
Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10:00 AM - Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 10:00 PM (BST)
London, United Kingdom
I'm proud to announce what will hopefully be many OpenSolaris Hackathons!
This event is open to all, primarily to coders, hackers, sysadmins and interested parties of all levels who are interested in hacking the OpenSolaris source and getting involved with community projects surrounding OpenSolaris.
The content of the hackathon will primarily be driven by attendees, however some provisional topics may include:
- OpenSolaris Development Process & History
- Obtaining the source
- Building OpenSolaris
- Deep dive into core OpenSolaris technologies such as Zones, IPS
- Deep dive into the components that make up OpenSolaris the distribution (Indiana)
- Deep dive into the components of other OpenSolaris derived distributions
This is an exciting opportunity for people to get involved, to discover, share ideas and contribute to what is one of the most exciting operating systems available today!
Food & Drinks will be provided both days, and the Hackathon will be streamed live on the internet via Webcam in high def, as well as there being an Open IRC channel for worldwide participation.
The event is a 10 minute walk from London Bridge station or Borough Station and signs will be put up outside. We will also send phone contact details and a map to all registered participants before the event.
If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
